China Marriage 101 - Insider Information

As I discovered years ago, there is no better source of information as that of U.S. Citizens who have successfully Petitioned for a spouse or fiancee to enter the United States.

Before you start your process there is IMPORTANT information you need to know now. This will help you make decisions today, not only to save time and money, but to ensure that your Chinese spouse or fiancee is properly prepared for the U.S. Consulate interview.

Evidence For Proof of Relationship

Call your Chinese fiancé(e) early and often in the process with reminders to save all phone records. The most important phase of this process will be the U.S. Consulate interview in China. They will send your spouse or fiancé(e) a letter with instructions to appear for an interview with evidence of “Proof of Relationship.”

Part of this evidence will be correspondence, e-mails, greeting cards, letters and PHONE RECORDS. The longer the history the better.

Foreign Correspondence

In loving relationships, building trust, understanding, and mutual respect comes from the willingness to communicate. Sometimes this can be a problem in the early stages of a relationship if there is a language barrier that prevents deeper understanding.

This bond or what your Chinese spouse/fiancee knows about you, will be put to the test with documentation and questions from an interviewing officer at the U.S. Consulate in China. This interview will determine if your spouse/fiancee will be given a visa to enter the United States.

Lets take away the language barrier

We've just notified subscribers to our Newsletter of this translation tool that will allow you to write in English and translate in Chinese. You can copy and paste the translation into your letters, emails and instant messages. We have also just included a link to this handy tool at the bottom of our Welcome page when you subscribe. Even better...its free.

Make sure your Chinese spouse or fiancee saves all correspondence as evidence for the U.S. Consulate interview.
